South Lake Park
South Lake Park is located in Overland Park North of 87th Street between Metcalf and Antioch. The lake has geese and ducks and is stocked with small fish. The walking path is about 1/4 mile and circles the lake.
There is a nice playground for the little kids and a basketball court for the bigger ones.
The park has many trees, and it's nice to see them in the different seasons. In the Spring, several large cottonwoods seem to create a snowstorm of floating "cotton seeds". You can see how beautiful it can be in the Fall, this video was shot in October 2009.
